In November 2019, Hilary and Kevin Lowe presented the TV Journalist of the Year Award to Abbie Jones for her BBC report ‘The Church That Changed’. The film, featured on our homepage, tells the story behind Lizzie’s Legacy.
Abbie, who was also nominated for another award, had no idea Hilary and Kevin would be at the event. Nick Bundock from St James and Emmanuel attended too.
On 23 November, Abbie also received a Royal Televison Society award – ‘The Church That Changed’ was judged Best Regional Story in the north west.
Both awards are a fitting acknowledgement for the film, which covers the grief, challenges and transformation that have followed Lizzie’s death.
